As originator of the LikeCube concept, Eleanor Ford, Co-Founder, Strategy and Networks, is the winner of the Silver Award at the 2007 British Female Inventor and Innovator of the Year Awards, a Finalist in the Blackberry Women & Technology Awards 2008 and was profiled in the Jan 10 edition of Wired. Previously an anthropologist and filmmaker she was selected by NESTA as part of the Creative Pioneer Programme.
Dr Daniele Turi, Co-Founder, Research and Development, is a former Marie Curie Fellow and holds a doctorate in theoretical computer science from the Free University, Amsterdam. He has worked on the research and development of semantic web technologies at the University of Manchester and has 12 years research experience in semantics (Universities of Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Pisa).
Professor Gordon Plotkin, Research, is a Professor of Theoretical Computer Science in the School of Informatics at The University of Edinburgh (5 star RAE). Founder of pioneering Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1992. Gordon consults for Microsoft Research Labs.
Ismael Juma, Development, is a software developer with experience in a wide variety of areas, including scalable distributed storage systems (he is a committer on Project Voldemort), Java Virtual Machine performance and the Scala programming language. He is involved with many open-source projects. Holds a first class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Manchester.
Emmanuel Marchal, Commercial, has over 10 years of experience in launching new software products and growing businesses in both US and EMEA markets. Previously at Tideway Systems Ltd, the UK software startup backed by SEP, APAX and ACCEL partners, he was product manager and then director of partner programs. Graduated from the Ecole Centrale Paris, France.
Dr Oscar Corcho, Semantic Web, is a lecturer at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a former Marie Curie fellow at the University of Manchester. He has worked at the Spanish start-up iSOCO, and, as part of the Business Development and Sales team, focused on early adopters of innovative technologies. He consulted for, among others, Vulcan, SAP, BT and HP. Published several books on the Semantic Web.
Alan Jeffers, Non-Executive Director, has enjoyed a high-profile career within the Travel & Hospitality Industries. He joined Utell International in 1990 as Operations Manager UK and in 2000 was named as Chief Operating Officer - Utell Hotels & Resorts. In 1997, he set up his own business Sackville Solutions which he still owns and runs today, providing interim management, training, mentoring initiatives and outsourcing solutions during periods of organisational uncertainty and change.
Cindy Irvine, Advisor, was CEO of Roberts & Corr, where she worked with client companies to drive change through the recruitment of board level executives. Having successfully built the company, she sold it to the Hexagon HC group in 2006 before leaving in 2008 to co-found Jenson8. Cindy has substantial experience as a main board director and working at board level and also private equity funded deal-making. Her special interests are in business focused Leadership Development, multicultural programme delivery and client-strategic innovation.
